Living in the Wildland Urban Interface

The entire area of Inter-Canyon Fire Protection District lies within the Wildland Urban Interface, WUI. This is defined as an area where houses, commercial structures or complexes will have direct impacts from nearby wildland fires. Wildfire risk is the greatest hazard in our district. Therefore, we place great emphasis on our wildland fire prevention and suppression skills and assets. We advocate for individual, neighborhood and community mitigation efforts. Below, you will find information and resources for living in the WUI.
